PIX HONORED WITH SCI TECH OSCAR

It has been a privilege for all of us at PIX to serve the exceptional talent in this industry we love, and today we're honored to share that the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences recognized PIX with a Technical Achievement Award at its annual Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills.

In accepting the award, Eric Dachs, Founder and CEO of PIX said, "We are humbled and grateful to the Academy for recognizing these efforts, and for a process that was as comprehensive as it was enjoyable."

The prestigious Scientific and Technical Awards recognize the critical role played by science and technology in the moviemaking process. The award recognizes Eric Dachs, Founder and CEO; Erik Bielefeldt, Director of R&D; Craig Wood, Technical Director; and Paul McReynolds, Senior Software Engineer for the design and development of the industry leading security mechanism for distributing media.

For over 15 years, PIX has worked to ensure creative continuity and reduces project risk by ensuring that ideas are accurately shared, stored, and preserved throughout the entire creative process. This year, nearly 20 Oscar-nominated films were PIX projects, plus 7 out of 8 Best Picture nominees were made using PIX.

We would like to thank all of our clients, who trust us each day to protect their creative vision and treat us as part of the crew. We would also like to express our gratitude towards the Open Source community and our friends and family who have supported us from the earliest days. And most importantly we would like to thank The Academy.
